Why it matters
This Tidy Cats clay forms strong, tight clumps and neutralizes ammonia, urine and fecal odors, with 10-day odor control when used as directed, per Purina. Glade Clear Springs adds a light floral fragrance.
Purina says it pours with 99.9% less dust, and moisture-locking technology stands up to multi-cat use. It comes in a 38 lb box.
Who it's for, and who should skip it
Good fit if
- Multi-cat homes
- Owners who like a scent
- Self-cleaning boxes that take clumping litter
Look elsewhere if
- Owners who want a light bag
- Flushing (clay isn't flushable)
- Crystal-tray boxes
Pros and cons
Pros
- Tight clumps
- Low dust
- Large box
Cons
- Scented
- Heavy
- Not flushable
Limitations to weigh
- In a self-cleaning box, use it only where the box's maker accepts clumping litter; most globe and open-top boxes do, crystal-tray boxes don't.
- Scented litters can put off some cats; if your cat avoids the box after a change, try an unscented formula.
- The bag weight is what you carry, not how long it lasts; lighter formulas cover the same use with less weight.
